Some Firsts

What kind of firsts you ask? Well, of course it was Brityn's first Thanksgiving. Here are some pictures of that.....

Notice the runny nose? That was another first. Her first cold :(
The little "turkey" was feeling so icky she didn't even get to enjoy her first Thanksgiving dinner.
a calm moment before leaving for dinner-she is chewing on her shoe. Mom was having a hard time deciding which pair she should wear.
Brent got his elk on Thanksgiving. Hallelujah hunting season is over for him!
Wednesday night Brityn's nose started running and she was acting out of sorts. Rubbing her nose and ears a lot and being a little cranky. By the time bedtime came around her nose was really pouring. She went right to sleep though. Then silly me decided I needed to go into her room to cover her up around 9:30, big mistake, huge! She woke up and wouldn't go back to sleep until 12:30. She then woke again around 3:30-4:00 when Brent was leaving to go hunting, so I took her to bed with me and she proceeded to wake about every 45 minutes until she finally woke for the day at 7:30. I was so tired I fell asleep on the couch while she played on the floor ~gasp!~ I went to the store to get "supplies" (sometimes it is nice that stores are open on Thanksgiving! Although most of the time I would tell you it's ridiculous;)) Got some saline nose drops and some other sort of nose drop. Waste of time and money! As soon as I squeezed some into her nose she started hacking and threw up!
Thursday night I decided to sleep on the couch with her and she pretty much woke up every hour on the hour all night but she did sleep until 9:15!
Friday night was better she woke a few times until midnight then slept the rest of the night.
Saturday night she wouldn't go to sleep at first but when she finally did she slept until 9:30.
Last night she woke up around 10:00 stood up in her crib cried for 30 seconds, fell down, fell over and went back to sleep until 3:30 then back to sleep about 4:00 and slept through until I woke her about 7:30. She seems like she is feeling better and her nose isn't running as much, so hopefully the worst is behind us. She has a doctors appointment tomorrow for her flu shot booster so I will have the doc check her ears and find out what sort of medicines I can give her in the future.
We finally got around to putting some safety locks on the cabinet doors. When I say "we" what I really mean is, after asking Brent 2 weeks ago to do it for me I decided to do it myself on Friday as they were still sitting on my counter unopened. I would love to tell you these next pictures were before I put the locks on but that would be a lie and besides you can see the lock on the door if you look, so why bother lying?

these don't taste so good :P
Brityn is getting really good at standing up on her own, she is even picking up things and moving them while she stands up. Big things too like her toy basket. I still don't think she realizes she isn't actually holding onto anything when she does it. Brent thinks she will be walking in the next two weeks, I'm thinking more like the end of the month. We'll see who's right.

So sorry about the cold! They are no fun! :(

I am cracking up about the safety locks. You cannot even guess how many times I have asked Mike and they still aren't up. I'm about to do it myself as well.
